I recently had the chance to share my signature keynote with a powerhouse room of amazing bureau agents and fellow speakers. It was one of those moments I’ll never forget.
But honestly? The conversation later in the hotel lobby might’ve left an even bigger impression.
One of the agents and I got to talking about what really makes a keynote stick. We agreed—the magic isn’t in the speaker, it’s in the message. The kind of message that stays with people long after the speaker is out of sight. That’s the goal: to deliver something so full of passion and purpose that it leaves with the audience and lives on through them.
That’s what I hope for every time I step on stage. I want people to walk away thinking: I happen to the world (and my team), not the other way around.
It feels a little big, a little lofty, but isn’t that what a good Ripple Effect is all about? Helping others create their own.
I give out 5x7 cards at each of my keynotes, with the Have Good Ripple Effect message and I love hearing how attendees use them: post this on their bulletin boards, write a message and send it to a friend, or even give it to others as a thank you. Ripple effects can be small, but powerful.
Here’s to moments that inspire and messages that keep going!
